Throughfeed superfinishing of piston rod dampers requires a stable multistep process and success depends on the meticulous combination of several solutions. This is why when a long-term customer of ours approached us and requested a solution for superfinishing piston rod dampers with repetitively accurate surface qualities of Rz 0.5 and an improved tool life, our engineers chose to test a set of different specifications with 410A sulfurized in focus. Due to its unique composition of long-lasting grits and a strong bonding system V243, the tool was able to reach an even better surface quality and double tool life, while maintaining stable tool quality. The rough 1A 150 P 6 V716 allowed for the secure removal of the chromium droplets hardening on the surface that result from the coating of the workpiece.
