CASE STUDY: hDD Dresser on Diamond Wheel for Carbide Insert Grinding

hDD Hybrid Bond Dressing Tool increases dressing interval by 2X

A customer was grinding tungsten carbide cutting inserts with a Meister vitrified diamond grinding wheel on a high-performance Junker machine.  JunkerThe dresser being used was a hand-set CVD from another manufacturer.  On suspicion that the wheel was not being properly sharpened, a porous hybrid-bonded dressing tool (hDD) was applied.  As a result the wheel performance was dramatically improved, allowing the dressing interval to be doubled.
